Environmental Scientist

Don More is looking for an Environmental Scientist to join our team and lead our Environmental group. Based in Saint John, the Scientist will work closely with clients, approval agencies and others on the design team to complete land development projects.

This is a senior level position. Individual should be a motivated self starter who can lead and manage a team and manage and execute projects.

Tasks:

  • Interact with clients

  • Prepare quotes and proposals for projects

  • Perform research and background investigations

  • Prepare investigation plans and reporting

  • Perform and oversee the execution of field investigations

  • Prepare reports and supporting documents

  • Confirm adherence to regulations and standards by monitoring project progress

  • Inspecting construction sites and verifying compliance

Skills:

  • Wetland delineation experience and acceptance by NB DoE is a requirement.

  • EIA experience - both in terms of familiarity with the process and ability to lead the development of submissions

  • Bioswale and other Low Impact Design experience both in terms of design and construction and assment of treatment function.

  • Hydrogeologic experience would be considered an asset (Water supply assessments)

Prior experience in site development is a requirement.

The primairy focus of this team is on development support such as watercourse and wetland delineations and mitigation and compensation in terms of function analysis and identification of high function vs low function wetlands to guide the level of impact of potential developments. Wetland construction and enhancement and LID’s to control stormwater runoff quality treatment and associated construction support. Completion of water supply assessments.
